Proftp 사용자계정 접속불가 ㅠㅠ

개인적으로 사이트 및 참고자료를 검색해봤으나 (검색실력의 부족인지도 모르겠습니다. ㅠㅠ) 저의 문제를 해결할 방법이 없어 이렇게 질문합니다.

일단 저는 리눅스를 처음 사용해본 초보입니다.

간단한 테스팅용 웹서버로 사용하기 위해 여기 사이트에 나온 대로 Red Hat 9 와 APM 설치까지 마쳤습니다.

인터넷환경은 KT광랜이고 공유기 아래에 서버가 존재합니다.

ftp 접속자체의 문제는 아닌 것 같습니다. (제가 확인한 바로는...)

방화벽, 공유기 포트 모두 열었고 접속은 가능합니다.

그리고 anomynous접속도 가능합니다. (지금은 변수를 줄이려고 설정을 지웠지만 테스트는 성공했습니다.)

그런데 시험삼아 사용자계정 (root가 아님, 그룹은 user로 설정, /home/사용자id, /home/사용자id/public_html)을 2개 만들었고 일반적인 웹호스팅서비스 처럼 ftp를 통해 각각의 계정에 화일을 업로드하려고 하는데 로그인이 안됩니다.

윈도우 cmd하의 ftp는 물론 알ftp(패시브모드도 포함) 도 사용하였으나 접속은 가능하나 로그인 실패인 상태가 계속됩니다. 물론 비밀번호는 재차 확인했습니다. (이틀째--;;)

제 추측으로는 권한설정문제인 것 같은데, 왕초보 입장에서 방법을 찾을수가 없군요.

그럼 고수님들의 도움 부탁드립니다.
