imap과 pop4 인증부분 문의 합니다.

최근에 서버세팅을 하면서 다람쥐 웹메일 설치를 위해

sendmail-8.13.3_1, imap-uw-2004c1를 설치했습니다.

그런데 콘솔에서 테스트를 하면 아래와같은 오류 메세지가 뜹니다.

그리고 다람쥐 웹메일을 웹에서 테스트하면 아래같은 오류가 뜨고요. 

Bad request: The IMAP server is reporting that plain text logins are disabled. Using CRAM-MD5 or DIGEST-MD5 authentication instead may work. Also, the use of TLS may allow SquirrelMail to login. Please contact your system administrator and report this error.

아마도 POP3와 IMAP4가 시스템계정을 못읽어 오는것 같은데요.
혹시 해결방법을 아시는 고수님들 계시면 도움을 주셨으면 합니다.
이거땜에 근 2주일 정도를 헤메고 있네요...

참 운영체제는 freebsd 5.4 버젼입니다.
